When I was a kid, I thought my father was Superman. A 6'2, shaggy-haired, blue-eyed Superman. The other day, in ICU, he looked at me...tubes running from his neck, his chest, his sides. "I bet you thought your Dad was superman." He was joking. "You are Superman. Still." I was not.
For the few people who know my situation with my father, he is doing well enough. I don't feel comfortable writing more right now-the hospital takes quite a toll!-but he did have his transplant. Thanks.
